Join Maree Amato as she presents a rare glimpse into the work she does with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within her Local Health District. An often under-represented area in clinical practice, Maree provides education and resources about pain, chronic pain and the direct link to lifestyle choices and existing chronic diseases within community.

What will be covered:
  • History of the Aunty Jean’s Program in the Illawarra region
  • Outline of presentations delivered to this community
  • Why these presentations need to be different to mainstream presentations

Meet our Presenter:

Maree Amato
Clinical Nurse Consultant and Co-ordinator of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Chronic Pain Service

  

Maree originally commenced as a hospital trained nurse in 1982, and further holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing), Master of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) and sits on the Agency for Clinical Innovation Pain Management Network Executive Committee in NSW.
